A Sarajevo, en Bosnie-Herzégovine, le Bureau suisse de la coopération de la Direction pour le développement et la coopération (DDC) a publié, le 23 juillet dernier, une information aux media à propos du 10e camp médicalisé swisscor. Nous en publions ci-dessous la version originale.

Children from Bosnia and Herzegovina Spend Summer Holidays in Switzerland

20 underprivileged children from Kalesija as well as 3 disabled children from Fojnica are invited, along with 4 accompanying teachers, to spend their summer holidays at a famous specialised children’s village in Trogen in eastern Switzerland from 28 July to 11 August 2009. This is already the third time that youngsters have been invited free of charge to spend two weeks of vacation in Switzerland.  

The Swisscor Foundation (www. each year holds a holiday camp in Switzerland with medical care that welcomes underprivileged children, disabled or abandoned boys and girls, aged between 9-14 years old, and helps victims of crisis or even war. Therefore in 2009 there are invited 23 children from Bosnia and Herzegovina - together with 58 others from Albania – to a relaxing summer camp in a picturesque region. Appenzell is situated in the eastern part of Switzerland having gently rolling hills and being one of the most authentic Swiss cantons where traditions remain alive. So the young people will enoy a superb qualitiy of life and be enchanted by the green pastures at the foot of the pre-alpine massif of rocky Säntis. The programme of the holiday camp includes, focusing on multiculturalism and building up friendship, a wide range of activities: sports, games, culture events, excursions with picnics, boat trips on lake Constance, celebration of the Swiss national holiday on 1st of August, exchanges with Swiss school classes.  

This fortnight for 27 persons from Bosnia and Herzegovina includes the round-trip by plane, food and accomodation, all excursions, medical and accident insurance, specialized supervision (also by medical practitioners who can provide assistance for those in need). Together with the help by the Swiss Embassy in Sarajevo for the Schengen-visa and the logistical support by the Swiss Cooperation Office B&H the Swisscor Foundation is spending alone for the children about  CHF 67`500.
